Sidney is located at the junction of the Susquehanna and Unadilla Rivers in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. It is situated in the northwest corner of Delaware County, abutting both Chenango and Otsego counties. Sidney is strategically located at the junction of State Route 8, State Route 7 and Interstate 88 connecting cities of Binghamton, Utica and Oneonta.

Sidney is the largest Village in Delaware County with a population of 3,900 residents. It’s largest employers, consisting of Amphenol Corporation, ACCO Corporation, Unadilla Laminated Products, Sidney Central School, and the Tri-Town Regional Hospital, provide a stable job base for its residents. The Village of Sidney maintains the only municipal airport in Delaware County, a police force, a volunteer fire department. The Village has excess capacity in its wastewater treatment facility and is blessed with an abundant supply of quality drinking water as provided to the greater Sidney area by its Water Department. There is also an AM-FM radio station and a weekly newspaper.
