Moving Wallkill Forward!
We are pleased to announce that the Town of Wallkill was selected as one of 22 communities across the State to receive $3M as part of the New York State’s Rising Community Reconstruction Program.
As many of you know, our Town was severely impacted by Hurricanes Irene and Lee and then by Super Storm Sandy. These events caused a disruption to the services that our Town provides to our residents. They also caused a financial burden on our Town, as we had to shoulder the cost of the repairs due to flooding.
Earlier this year, our dedicated Public Works Department under the leadership of Commissioner Lou Ingrassia Jr., began advocating for our Town to the Governor for financial assistance in response to these extraordinary events, and today the fruits of their labor have paid off for our community.
