Vernon is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 5,408 at the 2010 census According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 38.1 square miles (98.7 km²), all of it land.The west town line is the border of Madison County and is formed by the Oneida Creek.
